Webinar: Delivering a Scalable Cloud-Based Platform for Regulatory Reporting

On the 14th of October we had an inspiring 'The Digital Move' Webinar with Sopra Steria on ‘Delivering a scalable cloud-based platform for regulatory reporting'. The speakers for the Webinar were Vineet Jay - client executive and Neil Caldwell - delivery director.    

Sopra Steria presented a customer case in which they helped the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the UK, similar to the Dutch ‘Autoriteit Financiële Markten (AFM), to create a platform that allows the FCA to implement the MIFID II regulations in the UK by using this platform to receive all regulatory compliant reporting from all relevant financial market parties. The platform is called the Market Data Platform.  

Sopra Steria has built the platform in a large application development program in close collaboration with the FCA. Utilizing for the large part an Agile WoW, with joint staffed teams, the involvement of open-source vendors and offshoring. The platform was built cloud-native as one of the first large scale deployments on AWS in the UK. Sopra Steria remains until today responsible for the management and operations of the platform. The platform has a high volume capacity of on average 31 million transactions per day.
